01 How do I choose the right mobility scooter?
Consider where you will use the scooter, how far you usually travel, how it will be stored and whether it needs to fit inside a vehicle.
- Maximum speed and estimated range
- User weight capacity and scooter weight
- Folded dimensions and folding mechanism
- Seat comfort, suspension and legroom
- Battery type and charging requirements
02 What is the difference between Class 2 and Class 3 scooters?
Class 2 scooters generally travel at up to 4 mph and are mainly intended for pavements and pedestrian areas. Class 3 scooters may travel at up to 8 mph and can be used on roads when they meet applicable legal requirements.
Class 3 scooters must be limited to 4 mph on pavements.
03 Does a Class 3 scooter need DVLA registration?
Class 3 mobility scooters normally need to be registered with the DVLA before road use. The customer is responsible for registration and following current road-use requirements.
04 Will a folding scooter fit inside my car boot?
Many folding scooters fit suitable car boots, but vehicle space and scooter dimensions vary. Compare the folded width, height and length with your available boot space and consider the lifting weight.
05 What is manual versus automatic folding?
Manual models fold using a lever, latch or frame mechanism. Automatic models use an electric folding system operated by a button or remote control. Automatic models can reduce effort but may be heavier.
06 How far can a scooter travel on one charge?
Each product page provides an estimated range. Actual distance can vary with user weight, hills, weather, surface conditions, battery age, tyre pressure and riding style.
07 Why is the maximum user weight important?
The limit includes the rider and anything carried on the scooter. Exceeding it can affect braking, stability, range and component life. Choose a model with a comfortable allowance above the expected total load.
08 Can I take a mobility scooter on an aeroplane?
Some folding scooters and removable lithium batteries may be accepted for air travel. Contact the airline before booking and provide the scooter dimensions, weight, battery chemistry and battery capacity.
09 How are mobility scooters delivered?
Compact products may use tracked parcel or specialist couriers. Larger scooters may require heavy-freight, pallet or kerbside delivery. The available service and charge will be shown at checkout or confirmed before dispatch.
10 What does kerbside pallet delivery mean?
The courier normally unloads the packaged scooter at the nearest safe and accessible point outside the address. Standard pallet delivery does not usually include indoor placement, assembly or packaging removal.
11 Will I receive tracking or a delivery appointment?
Tracking is provided where available. Specialist freight providers may contact you by telephone, text or email to arrange delivery rather than offering live parcel-style tracking.
12 What should I do if my delivery is damaged?
Photograph the packaging, pallet, courier label and affected product area. Keep all packaging, note visible damage on the delivery record where possible and contact us promptly. Do not use an item that appears unsafe.
13 Can I purchase without paying VAT?
Some products may qualify for zero-rated VAT when the customer, product and intended use meet HMRC requirements. Eligible customers must complete the required declaration. Not every product or accessory automatically qualifies.
14 Are finance or instalment options available?
Available options are shown on eligible product pages or at checkout. Finance is subject to the provider's eligibility checks, terms, affordability assessment and approval.
15 Can I return a scooter if I change my mind?
Online customers generally have 14 days after delivery to notify us of cancellation and a further 14 days to return the goods. Contact us before arranging the return of a scooter. Handling beyond reasonable inspection may reduce the refund.
16 Who pays the return cost?
For a change-of-mind return, the customer normally pays the direct return cost where this was explained before purchase. Faulty, damaged, incorrect or misdescribed products are handled according to your statutory rights.
17 How should I charge and care for the battery?
Use the supplied or approved charger in a dry, ventilated location. Follow the manufacturer's charging instructions and avoid unsuitable heat, cold, moisture or prolonged complete discharge.
18 Are accessories compatible with every scooter?
No. Baskets, batteries, chargers, covers and attachment brackets may only fit specific models. Review the compatibility list or contact us with the exact scooter make and model.
19 What should I do if my scooter develops a fault?
Stop using the scooter if the issue affects steering, braking, stability or electrical safety. Contact us with your order number, model, serial number, description and supporting photographs or video.
20 Do scooters include a warranty?
Warranty coverage varies by manufacturer and product. Details are shown on the product page or included with the scooter. Separate periods may apply to the frame, electronics, battery and charger.
